Katleho started playing football from primary school ,Then he grew up playing for a team called Black Urban FC (Amateur).In 2012 he signed with Roses United FC .After His next journey was Free State Stars FC for four months during that season they loaned him to African Warriors for one and half season .In 2016 he went to play for Thanda Royal Zulu FC ,and they won Promotion.After the management decided to sell the status .In 2017 he signed with Richard’S Bay FC in NFD, Until he partways with them on 30th of October 2023.

Richards Bay FC have shockingly parted ways with their Captain Katleho Maphathe ,who was crucial for them when they got promoted to the SA’s top-flight in the previous season .
After parted ways with Richards Bay FC , Katleho joins Cape Town Spurs FC on the 31st of January 2024 during transfer window.The person who influenced and inspired him to became an footballer,Told the online publication is himself, Because he was always dreaming to professional football.The Challenges he faced since started playing football ,said nothing because he didn’t struggle that much . During his football Journey he learned that he must Respect the game .The person motivates him to do better every day was the late Coach Roger Skhakhane because he was there always to motivate him .The changes would like to see happening in South African Football Development Structures laughs”Said teams should provide platform for upcoming footballers especially in Rural Areas so that they can showcase their talents.Katleho s’ favourite idol is his Mother, stated his favourite person.The person regards as his Best Mentor in football is Simo Dladla , Because he always encourage him to do better every day.On joining Cape Town Spurs FC, Katleho feels honoured already enjoy the set up (structure), Vision of the team highlighted ” he wants to do more for the team .In 3 years time he wants to see himself become the Best player in South Africa, Also playing for one of the Big three teams Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and win trophies.The former Richards Bay Captain since started playing football,he managed to won NFD League in 2016/2017 Season, Also represented South Africa under 20 in the international level . Words for his family and supporters back home Said” he would like to take this opportunity to thank them through difficult times also he values their support and he won’t dissapoint them going forward.The advise he wants to share with upcoming footballers , According to him They must just work hard , have patience on their Dreams being a professional football player and also they mustn’t worry about age .
